Youth Lacrosse

Our goal is to teach our kids the fundamentals of the sport of football, while we create a safe environment for learning, playing and enjoying the game of Football.

We started in 2022 with just 7th & 8th Grade, 18 kids, 14 of the kids they never played lacrosse before.  We went 1-10 in 2022.  In 2023 7th & 8th Grade returned 12 kids with experience and we went 5-6.  We also expended to include K-6th grade with 20 kids all brand new to the sport, playing in the Marysville youth program.

We are aligned with the BV High school program and are excited to create a program that will be around for years to come here at Buckeye Valley. GO BARONS!

7th & 8th Grade Lacrosse

Season

  • Season is March (practice) through May (last game)

Practice

  • Optional Open Gym (Helmet/Glove/Sticks): Some Tuesdays between January and February.
  • Official Practice (full pads): Tentative Plan: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at Buckeye Valley grass fields
  • Optional Practice for spring break

Games

  • Played on Monday, Wednesday or Saturday (11 games estimated + State Tournament).
  • First game is the week of April 1st
    • Transportation not provided by the club

Uniform & Equipment

  • Helmet: borrowed (property of the team) or provide your own (white/gold preferred)
    • Borrowed helmets are 2023 CPV-R certified lacrosse helmets but limited in quantity and are first come first serve. You will be responsible for purchasing one if we are out of your child’s size by the time you register.
  • Practice pennies: provided (property of team)
  • Game Jerseys: provided (property of the team)
  • Game Shorts: player provided (white)
  • Players are responsible for all other necessary equipment:
    • Gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, cleats, sticks, mouthpieces, protective cup.

K-6th Grade Lacrosse

 

K- 6th Grade

Instructional based lacrosse aimed to provide a fun and learning environment to learn lacrosse. We play through the Columbus Ohio Youth Lacrosse League (COYLL) and teams consist of K-2, 3rd/4th, and 5th/6th graders. Practice

  • Practice starts in March (full pads): 2~3 days a week at Buckeye Valley fields.
  • Optional Practice for spring break.

Games

  • K-2: 5 games on Sunday for 5 week season.
  • 3rd-6th: 10 games total played on Sunday as a double header for a 5 week season.
